FuelSense is a trade name of 2396344 Ontario Inc., a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the FuelSense mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Your use of the App is also subject to the terms of the platform through which you downloaded it (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the platform's terms, the platform's terms shall prevail with respect to your use of that platform.

2. Eligibility and User Accounts

2.1 Anonymous Users

You may use FuelSense without creating an account. Anonymous users may access station listings, view fuel prices, and navigate to stations. Anonymous sessions are temporary and data may not be retained between sessions.

2.2 Registered Users (Free)

Creating a free account grants access to additional features including trip logging and fill-up tracking. Free accounts include unlimited trip and fill-up logging with access to records from the last 90 days. Some features — including saving favourite stations, per-platform tax breakdowns, historical records beyond 90 days, and PDF tax exports — are available exclusively to Plus+ subscribers.

2.3 Plus+ Subscribers

A FuelSense Plus+ subscription unlocks all premium features as described in Section 8.

FuelSense reserves the right to adjust features available on each tier at any time. Registered users will be notified of material changes.

4. Permitted Use

You agree to use FuelSense only for lawful purposes. You must not:

Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App or its underlying systems
Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or misuse data from the App
Collect, aggregate, or resell fuel price or station data from the App without prior written permission from FuelSense Inc.
Impersonate another user or provide false information during registration
Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality or servers
Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, provincial, federal, or international law

5. Fuel Price Accuracy

Fuel prices displayed in FuelSense are sourced from third-party data providers and community contributions, and are provided for informational purposes only. FuelSense does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any price information. Actual prices at the pump may differ. We recommend confirming prices before fuelling.

6. Navigation and Mapping

FuelSense may integrate with third-party mapping services to provide navigation to fuel stations. FuelSense is not responsible for the accuracy of directions, road conditions, station availability, or changes to station locations. Use of any third-party mapping service is subject to that service's own terms.

7. Financial and Tax Information

Important: FuelSense is a tracking and organisational tool, not a tax preparation service.

Any expense tracking, mileage calculations, or tax-related estimates provided by FuelSense are for informational and organisational purposes only. They do not constitute financial, accounting, or tax advice. FuelSense Inc. makes no representations regarding the suitability of this information for tax filing or professional use.

IRS and CRA mileage rates are updated annually. While FuelSense endeavours to apply current rates, users are responsible for verifying that the correct rate has been applied for their specific jurisdiction and circumstances. Always consult a qualified accountant or tax professional for personalised advice.

8. Subscriptions and Billing

FuelSense Plus+ is a paid subscription service. By subscribing, you authorise FuelSense to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis at the rates presented at the time of purchase.

Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
Cancellation: Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You retain Plus+ access until the end of the paid period
Refunds: FuelSense does not offer refunds for partial subscription periods except where required by applicable law
Free trials: Where a free trial is offered, you will not be charged during the trial period. Your subscription automatically converts to paid at the end of the trial unless cancelled beforehand
Price changes: FuelSense will notify you of pricing changes at least 30 days in advance

Payments are processed by our third-party payment processing provider. FuelSense does not store your full payment card number.

9. User Data and Community Programme

By submitting trip records, expense data, and receipt information to FuelSense, you grant FuelSense Inc. a licence to store, process, and use that data to provide the App's services and for anonymous community data purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.

When you record a fill-up, an anonymous price record — containing only station location, fuel type, price per litre or gallon, and timestamp, with no personal identifiers — is added to our community fuel price database. Anonymous fuel price data collected through the app may be shared with our affiliated company DrivePulse and third-party data partners. This data contains no personal information and cannot be linked to any individual user. You may opt out at any time in Profile → Privacy & Data.

10. Privacy

Your use of FuelSense is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. FuelSense collects location data solely to provide nearby station results and to record trip start and end points for mileage tracking. The App does not track your location continuously in the background.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and software associated with FuelSense are the property of FuelSense Inc. or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal use only. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

12. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Account → Delete Account. Personal data will be removed within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy.

FuelSense reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FuelSense Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including reliance on fuel price data, navigation errors, or financial decisions made based on information provided by the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to FuelSense in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

FuelSense is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time without notice.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Users in the United States acknowledge that the App is operated from Canada and that Canadian law governs. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

16. Changes to These Terms

FuelSense Inc. reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Registered users will be notified of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account registration: Name, email address, and password
Profile information: Vehicle type and fuel preference you optionally provide
Expense and trip data: Fuel expenses, distances, and trip records you enter
Odometer readings: Annual odometer readings you optionally enter for tax purposes
Payment information: Processed securely by our third-party payment provider. FuelSense does not store your card number.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Precise GPS location: Recorded only when you tap Start Trip and Stop Trip — not tracked continuously in the background
Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting
App usage data: Features used, session frequency, and error logs to improve performance

2.3 Receipt and Document Data (Plus+ only)

Receipt scans: When you use the in-app receipt scanning feature, your receipt image is automatically read to extract relevant details such as station name, cost, and date. The image is stored securely in your personal account and is never shared externally in identifiable form.
Maintenance records: Service provider name, service type, cost, odometer reading, and date

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 To Provide the App

Display nearby fuel stations and current prices
Record and store your trip records, fill-up logs, and maintenance entries
Calculate IRS and CRA mileage tax deductions automatically
Generate tax-ready summaries and reports
Process your Plus+ subscription payment securely

3.2 To Improve the App

Analyse anonymised usage patterns to improve features and performance
Diagnose technical errors and application crashes

3.3 Anonymous Fuel Price Data — Community Programme

This is enabled by default. You may opt out at any time in Profile → Privacy & Data.

When you record a fill-up in FuelSense, an anonymous price record is automatically created and added to our community fuel price database. This helps keep the fuel prices shown in the app accurate for all users.

The anonymous record contains only: station location, fuel type, price per litre or gallon, and timestamp. It does not contain your name, account ID, how much fuel you purchased, your total spend, your receipt image, or any information that could identify you. There is no technical link between the anonymous record and your personal account — they cannot be connected by any means.

Anonymous fuel price data collected through the app — including station location, fuel type, price per litre, and timestamp — may be shared with our affiliated company DrivePulse and third-party data partners. This data contains no personal information and cannot be linked to any individual user.

Opting out does not affect your access to any FuelSense feature. Your personal fill-up records are always saved to your account regardless of your data sharing setting.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

All service providers are contractually required to protect your data and may use it only to provide their services to FuelSense. No provider is permitted to use your data for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

4.2 Anonymous Data — DrivePulse and Data Partners

Anonymous fuel price data collected through the app — including station location, fuel type, price per litre, and timestamp — may be shared with DrivePulse, our affiliated data company, and with third-party data partners including fuel industry researchers, logistics companies, fleet operators, and data analytics firms. This data contains no personal information and cannot be linked to any individual user. You may opt out at any time in Profile → Privacy & Data.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of FuelSense, its users, or the public.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure servers located in North America. All data is encrypted in transit and encrypted at rest using industry-standard protocols. In the event of a data breach that may affect your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable privacy law.

6. Data Retention

Trip records and tax data: Retained for 7 years from the relevant tax year, in line with CRA and IRS record-keeping guidelines
Receipt images: Retained for as long as your account is active
Account information: Retained until you delete your account
Anonymous community price data: Retained indefinitely as it contains no personal identifiers and cannot be traced back to any individual

Account Deletion

Delete your account at any time through Settings → Account → Delete Account or by emailing privacy@fuelsense.app. All personal data is removed within 30 days of your request. Anonymous community records are not deleted as they contain no link to your identity.

7. Your Rights — Canada (PIPEDA)

Right to access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for data collection or use at any time
Right to file a complaint: Contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376

We will respond to all privacy requests within 30 days.

8. Your Rights — United States (CCPA / CPRA)

Right to know: Request details about the personal data collected in the past 12 months
Right to delete: Request deletion of personal data we have collected about you
Right to correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
Right to opt out: Opt out of data sharing at any time in Profile → Privacy & Data
Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

We do not sell personal data. We will respond to US privacy requests within 45 days as required by applicable law.

9. Location Data

FuelSense requests access to your precise GPS location only when you use the trip tracking feature or search for nearby stations. This data is used solely to record trip start and end points for mileage tracking and to display nearby fuel stations.

We do not track your location continuously or in the background. Precise GPS coordinates are never shared externally. Any location data used in community datasets is associated only with a general station location — never with your personal movement or route history.

10. Children's Privacy

FuelSense is not directed at children under the age of 13 in the United States or 14 in Canada. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us at privacy@fuelsense.app and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will notify registered users of material changes by displaying a notice in the app and sending an email before changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated with each revision. Continued use of FuelSense constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

This policy explains how FuelSense uses cookies and similar technologies in our mobile application and website.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you use an app or website. They help the app remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how the app is used. Mobile apps use similar technologies — local storage and session tokens — that work the same way.

3. Essential vs. Optional Technologies

3.1 Essential — Always Active

Required for the app to function. These cannot be turned off:

· Authentication tokens to keep you securely signed in

· Session storage for current location and search results

· Local preferences storing your app settings and configuration

3.2 Optional — Analytics

These help us improve the app but are not required for core functionality:

· Anonymous usage analytics to understand which features are most used

· Error and crash reporting to identify and resolve technical issues

You can opt out in Settings → Privacy → Analytics.

4. Third-Party Technologies

Cloud infrastructure services: Our cloud provider handles authentication, data storage, and app analytics. It may store authentication tokens and anonymous identifiers on your device. No personal data is used for advertising.
Mapping services: When you navigate to a station, a third-party mapping application launches. That application's own data policies apply to your use of it.
Payment processing: If you subscribe to Plus+, our payment provider may store encrypted payment tokens on your device. No full card numbers are ever stored.

5. Your Choices

Clear app data: Device Settings → Apps → FuelSense → Clear Data. This logs you out and resets local preferences.
Opt out of analytics: Settings → Privacy → Analytics and toggle off.
Opt out of data sharing: Profile → Privacy & Data and toggle off.
Delete your account: Removes all personal data from our servers within 30 days.
Uninstall the app: Removes all locally stored data from your device immediately.

6. Website

If you visit fuelsense.app, our website may use standard browser cookies for language and region preferences, anonymous page analytics, and session management. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time.

7. Changes to This Policy
